My IFE14

IFE14 is an Integrated Field Exercise to simulate an almost entire OSI in Jordan in November 2014 organized by the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

A pillar of the verification regime of the Comprehensive Test ban Treaty, the readiness of on-site inspection (OSI) will be put to the test by the biggest exercise attempted to date. During IFE14 the inspection team will conduct a meticulous search of a clearly defined inspection area to establish whether or not a (fictitious) nuclear explosion has been conducted. The exercise will be in response to a technically realistic and stimulating but fictional scenario.

I have the great privilege to be participating in this exercise. While there I will write about what is going on, what the team is doing (as far as possible without giving the game away), and what an OSI is all about.
